ELEVATE Transition: Equipping Learning, Empowering Vision, Achieving Transitions, and Engaging Families—A Doctoral Leadership Initiative

Elevate Transition Logo

Project Description

ELEVATE Transition will train approximately 20 scholars across six universities to become leaders in secondary transition either in school administration or higher education. Scholars will be trained with a specific focus on secondary special education and transition and the transition into adult life for students with disabilities. Each scholar will obtain a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) through their home institution.

This training consortia project involves the University of Oklahoma, in collaboration with the University of Arkansas, University of Connecticut, University of Kansas, Ohio State University, and Sam Houston State University.

Our Vision

Across the six institutions, we will prepare doctoral scholars to be leaders (professors, researchers, administrators, directors) in the field of special education, focusing on transition and culturally sustaining/responsive practices.
