The Science of Teaching Reading and Mathematics

We work collectively to improve the literacy and mathematics outcomes of Kindergarten through twelfth grade students experiencing learning difficulties, including students with or at risk for disabilities.

We accomplish this in two primary ways:
  1. Providing professional learning for preservice and inservice teachers on implementing research-based practices during core instruction, small-group intervention, and one-on-one instruction. We emphasize data literacy for teachers to empower them in making informed instructional decisions using students' data.
  2. Designing and testing instructional methods for improving students' literacy and mathematics outcomes.
