Kansas iCan Connect: Kansas Deaf Blind Equipment Distribution-Assistive Technology for Kansans



Project Description

 

Kansas iCan Connect is a federally funded program that helps individuals with combined vision and hearing loss stay connected to the world around them.

The program provides telecommunications advanced telecommunication equipment and personalized training so individuals can communicate more easily with family, friends, employers, healthcare providers, and their community.

Individuals may qualify if they meet the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) Act definition of deaf-blindness and have a household income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level.

Eligible individuals may receive devices that make phone calls, video calls, text messaging, and internet use accessible, along with technology that supports telecommunications, advanced communications, and internet access. One-on-one training is included to help individuals confidently use their equipment. All equipment and training are provided at no cost to eligible participants.
