Biography —
Ski Adams is is an Assistant Research at the Kansas University Center on Disabilities. He uses his lived experience navigating health and educational settings as an AAC user, over twenty years advocating at the local, state, and federal level, and accounting background to support teams to advance research focused on the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His lived experience allows him to share unique insights on different projects. A good example is reviewing proposed legislation around accessible video communication and emerging technology for people with disabilities. His use of augmentative communication allows him to provide a perspective on the law other teammates do not have. For example, I am interested in how new technology works for someone who uses a communication device.
