National Data and Systems Change
High-quality, accessible data is critical to strategic planning and decision-making. Our projects collect, analyze, and report national data on topics of interest to people with disabilities, families, and professionals. This data is used to support the development and of effective systems change efforts, modernized policies, innovative practices, value-based programs, and quality of life impact measures. Informed by the needs and priorities of the disability community, we focus on data concerning community living, employment, education, technology, and more.
KU Center on Disabilities houses the State of the States in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, a Longitudinal Data Project of National Significance. Funded by the Administration on Disabilities, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, State of the States was initiated in 1982 to investigate the determinants of public spending for intellectual and developmental disabilities services in the United States.
