Transition to Adulthood: Community Participation and Employment
Community engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration are central to our work at KUCD. In partnership with communities throughout Kansas and beyond, we build capacity for supporting the right of people with disabilities to live and work in their communities.
Our work brings together self-advocates, families, service providers, schools, and community organizations to build and sustain networks of support, driven by the expertise of people with disabilities and supported by data and evidence-based practices from research.
We aim to:
- Connect people to technology that supports them to live and work in their communities.
- Advance knowledge and practice to enhance post-school outcomes for people with disabilities.
- Build community capacity for supporting people with disabilities to find and maintain competitive, integrated employment.
- Collect and analyze national data to support policy and systems change efforts.
