Inclusive Research

Inclusive research is research that foregrounds the perspectives and expertise of individuals with disabilities. In the past, disability research was often done without including people with disabilities as equal partners in the research process. At KUCD, we are working to change this through our inclusive research initiatives.

In partnership with people with disabilities, KUCD has developed the Inclusive Research Learning Series (IRLS). The IRLS brings together people with disabilities and researchers from across the country, supporting teams to implement inclusive practices through all stages of research.

Building on our work with the IRLS, we seek to:

  • Advance inclusive research practices within KUCD and beyond
  • Support career pathways in inclusive research for people with disabilities
  • Develop and scale evidence-based tools and trainings in inclusive research
