Bea Bohrer

Bea Bohrer, M.A.T., M.S.Ed, ADAC is an ELEVATE Transition Doctoral Fellow with KUCD and the KU Department of Special Education. Bea earned their Master of Arts in Teaching from Pittsburg State University in 2022 and their Master of Science in Special Education from KU in 2021. Bea worked as a transition specialist and then a secondary biology teacher in Kansas City Kansas Public Schools from 2019 - 2023 before becoming a summer work experience transition supervisor for Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation in 2024 and the ADA Coordinator for the University of Missouri - Kansas City from 2024 - 2025. Bea is passionate about employment justice and access to competitive integrated employment (CIE) for people with disabilities and their research interests include CIE for adults with multiple disabilities and other intersectional marginalized identities and employment policy.
