Biography —

Dana’s work focuses on access to postsecondary education for young adults with IDD as well as developing resources and professional development for secondary transition practitioners. She leads the KU Transition to Postsecondary Education (KU TPE) undergraduate certificate program for KU students with IDD in partnership with the School of Education and Human Sciences and multiple units across KU’s learning and living environments to ensure that students with IDD have opportunities to achieve success in their adult lives as they define it. She is committed to impacting systems and sustainability through work with state agencies, services providers, and other campuses to expand inclusive postsecondary education and training opportunities. With a background in multiple models of professional development for secondary transition practitioners, she also supports knowledge translation, dissemination and use to enhance the capacity of states and professionals and designs and evaluates impactful teacher training.
